Dave Wilt, #3 was born in March of 1956 in Duncansville, PA. He raced for 21 years in Street Stock, Late Model and Pure Stock divisions at Jennerstown, Bedford, Cumberland, Hesston, Port Royal, Clearfield, Old Dominion, Hagerstown and Dog Hollow. Dave’s biggest supporters were, and are still, his wife Theresa and children, along with his late friend and pit crew chief, Ronnie Walter.
Dave was born with racing in his blood, as he has followed in his father and brother’s footsteps; it has been his passion since he could remember.
Dave admits his biggest accomplishment was moving from dirt to asphalt. Winning a double feature at Jennerstown is his most memorable race. However, we all know competing in the Jennerstown’s short skirt contest, running through the pits, throwing the wig and nylons off, and jumping into the racecar to win the feature that evening comes in at a close second.
Dave’s personal Victory Lane is now accompanied by his wife of 45 years, Theresa, children, Joy, Brandy and Travis along with grandchildren, Skye, Jackson and Dani, nephew Mel, and many family and friends.
He raced for 60 years in the Super Late Model division on dirt tracks across the East Coast.
Terry was employed by the Lasky family for 17 years from 1982 to 1999. Throughout the years. his duties were many. He was instrumental in securing local advertising for the many billboards in turn one, the ad on the front stretch walls, ads for the programs each year as well as the Division sponsor’s for many years. Before each season he would have shows at area malls to promote the start of his favorite season – RACING!
Each week during the season he was busy keeping track and updating each divisions points, interviewing drivers for a spotlight in the program each week as well as catering to the “Kid Corner” where he would create a coloring page of a driver’s car, word searches and anything else you could come up with.
In the later years he was a scorer and even the announcer for a few years!
Fun fact: Not only was he an employee of the track he also tried his hand in racing! He drove a Bill Awtey owned car during the Wednesday night Motorganza, where he picked up his one and only feature win! Terry also participated in many 4-cylinder enduro races as well as the only asphalt demolition derby held at Jennerstown Speedway!!
Whether it was working, watching, or driving racing was in his blood!!
At the end of every Saturday night, you could find him in the office writing the press release to be send out in the wee hours of the morning to the local media channels and newspapers.
Terry continued to support the track as a spectator after his retirement. He enjoyed watching and sharing his love of racing with his wife Nancy, his children Michele and Michael and his pride and joy grandson’s Zach and Bryce.
