Jennerstown, PA) Last Saturday, Mother Nature halted the racing action at the Jennerstown Speedway for only the second time in 2017, adding the annual “Scout Night” celebration to the agenda for this week, July 29. Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and Cub Scouts, will be acknowledged during opening ceremonies, as all scouts and their troop/pack leaders will receive free admission. Also treated to free admission, will be all CDL drivers, thanks to an invitation from FFX Trucking. By presenting a valid CDL, free admission for the CDL driver and one guest will allow truck drivers to enjoy the racing, which gets underway at 6pm. Advance tickets from July 22, will be honored this Saturday night.
This Saturday’s on track action, includes five division stock car racing, plus the third round of the Ron’s Collision Center Enduro Series – “The Shane Shaffer Inc. 75.” The 75-lap event will be unique, as the Enduro competitors will be parked at the starting line, in four rows, leading to a “standing start,” four cars wide, headed to the first turn! The Enduro excitement will immediately follow preliminary heat races and feature races for all five divisions of stock cars; the Martella’s Pharmacies Late Models, Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modifieds, J&J Truck Equipment Street Stocks, Farmers Union Co-Op Chargers, and Somerset Trust Company Fast ‘n Furious 4-Cylinders.
At 4pm, music, clowns, and face painting on “The Midway” will begin, at the same time that “Racer’s Pub” opens for race fans age 21 and over. Food concessions also open at 4pm, featuring Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches, Little Caesar’s Pizza, Auntie Ann’s Pretzels, and Dairy Queen Ice Cream treats, just to name a few of the selections. Opening ceremonies begin at 5:50pm, with the green flag at 6pm at Jennerstown Speedway Complex.
