Loaded Agenda Saturday Night at Jennerstown Speedway Complex

Published: August 16, 2017

(Jennerstown, PA)  This Saturday, August 19, on Martella’s Pharmacies Night at the Races, fans will get much more than just high speed stock car competition.  An exhibition of vintage and antique race cars from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR.org) will allow spectators to get an up-close look at the machines that forged racing history in our region.  Plus, round three of the Ron’s Collision Center Enduro Series will follow the five division stock car racing – a 75 lap event that will launch from a “standing start,” in rows four-cars-wide.  General admission tickets will be FREE to CDL drivers, as FFX Trucking presents “Free CDL Night,” offering anyone with a valid Commercial Driver’s License complimentary admission for the CDL holder and one guest.  Also, kids in attendance will have the chance to perform a simulated milking, as a “repli-cow” will be setup on the Jennerstown Midway all evening, courtesy of the Allied Milk Producers.

Both categories of stock cars, and open-wheel race cars from the 1940’s, 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s will be on display before the races, thanks to the EMMR touring exhibit.  But, this is not just a “show” of glorious machines – the cars will get “track time” for a demonstration on the Jennerstown oval.  Coupes, Sprints, Stock Cars, and Supermodifieds are all part of most exhibits, as the tour travels the Eastern U.S.  Many local and travelling antique race cars are expected on Saturday, from both dirt track origins and asphalt racing history.

The Ron’s Collision Center Enduro Series has produced some memorable moments in the first two rounds of action during 2017.  In round two, the win was decided by a pass for the lead on the 75th and final lap!   All prior Enduros at Jennerstown have started just like a stock car race: side-by-side, rolling starts, with competitors taking the green flag in rows of two.  Saturday, the starting format changes, and all drivers will be parked at a stand-still, in rows of four cars, door-to-door.  When the green flag waves, the drivers will need to launch from the starting line on the front straight, and accelerate into the first turn, without the momentum of a rolling start.

FFX Trucking, of Windber, PA is treating all CDL drivers to a complimentary night at Jennerstown Speedway.  Earlier this year, FFX donated hundreds of dollars to local Fire Departments who were present for Jennerstown Speedway’s “First Responders Night.”  As FFX returns this Saturday, any driver presenting a valid CDL at the ticket gates, will be granted free admission, along with free admission for one guest of each CDL holder.

Allied Milk Producers have a unique opportunity for all the youngsters in attendance on Saturday.  A “milking experience” will be provided, using a state-of-the-art repli-cow, that simulates the milking process.  The life-sized, talking cow will be setup along the Jennerstown Midway when the gates open at 4pm.

Racing action begins at 6pm on Martella’s Pharmacies Night with five divisions of stock car racing: Martella’s Pharmacies Late Models, Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modifieds, J&J Truck Equipment Street Stocks, Farmers Union Co-Op Chargers, Somerset Trust Company Fast ‘n Furious 4-Cylinders
